Thursday was an awesome day. Well, at least in some parts...
Linda and Patti had to go to a funeral of Linda's mother's sister, who was 97.
While they were there, I was volunteering at Avon Place again. This time I worked with Marie most of the time. We started at 9:00am by handing out the Daily Chronicle, with in it some nice facts and some news about today. Then, we started getting residents from their rooms to bring them to the main dining room. There we did some exercise (they didn't feel like it today, only five residents came). After exercising, we played a couple of rounds of Uno. Everyone won one time, except for me... I'm feeling sorry for myself right now.
I went out to have my lunch break. Then, I came back inside to volunteer some more. This time I met Cristel (who we were with on Monday). She let me paint the windows to make them Halloweeny. It has been a long time since I was allowed to paint on the windows. Therefore it was so much fun, and it turned out pretty well I think (I drew a ghost and the Monster of Frankenstein)!
Linda and Patti came to get me around 2:00, drove me home to get my stuff, and dropped me off at Crocker Park. This is the place to shop if you live in Westlake, the area where they live).
And again, I had so much fun! I went to Barnes&Nobles, an amazing bookstore. It is so big, it looks like a library! The only difference is that they have a Starbucks in the building, so when you've bought your book or magazine, you can buy some coffee and just sit and read over there. And of course I had to try this...
I also went to H&M, and bought some clothes (duh!). Then I went to Abercrombie&Fitch. And I loved it. It was kind of quiet when I entered (and it would be the whole time I was there) and it smelled like this amazing perfume for men. I found a coat of $140, which I would have bought if they had it in my size (unfortunately for me, but luckily for my bank account). But I did fall in love with this simple, white hoody. And of course I couldn't leave A&F without buying something, so I bought the hoody. I'm so happy I bought it: it fits perfectly and smells heavenly (like the perfume in the store)!
At 6:00pm, Linda picked me up. We went grocery shopping at Marc's. They have so much food! I thought our three Oreo flavours were quite something, in the USA they even have Oreo with double filling, golden Oreo and Halloween Oreo! And there was this whole aisle filled with dressings! It was just weird to see how many choices you had.
When we were finished, we went home and had dinner with the three of us. I had a fun day!
PS: I also found The Cheesecake Factory, which reminded me of the Big Bang Theory
