Todays breakfast was delicious! It consisted of a smoothie, two slices of toasted cinnamon bread and some orange juice.
We left the house at 9:00am, and drove to the first house we had to clean today (new customers!). On the way there, we stopped in this poorer neighbourhood to hang envelopes with flyer's on the doors of the multiple churches in the area (there were like eight churches!). This meant Linda would stop the car, I would run to the door to hang the allready-ducktaped-with-colourful-ducktape envelopes on it and I would hurry back to the car.
At 10:30, we arrived at the new customer's home. We were right on time. He and his partner live in a very cute, but spacious top-floor apartment in what was once one house, but was now divided into a top and a bottom apartment. I thought they decorated it very cute, and I could see myself living in an apartment like theirs some day. The only bad thing about it was that it was dirty. Very dirty!
So, Linda and I started to clean the house. What we thought would thought would take us two hours, took us three and a half hours. There was so much to clean! But we did it anyway, and when we walked out of the building, everything was clean.
For lunch, we went to Lakewood Park. There we sat at the most beautiful, and almost perfect spot to read a book. It would have been perfect if the bench was a little more comfortable and if there would have been less people. However, with the sunlight we had a great view on Lake Erie and on downtown Cleveland.
After lunch we went back to work. This time in 'The Office', which is a store that sells some kind of thing used in machines (I forgot the name...). My job was paper shredding and bringing empty boxes to a container. We were done very quickly.
We headed home to change, and then we drove with Patti to a typically American restaurant called Quaker's. There we met Mary (Linda's mother) and Linda's sister Joanne.
The restaurant was awesome! There were cars and motorcycles hanging from the ceiling, and they made it look like a garage-meets-bikers-bar. This is the reason why I can get 'dining underneath a car' off my bucketlist. It is a really awesome restaurant, so if you happen to drive by, their burgers are very good, and the atmosphere is great.
I ate an Arizona El Camino burger, with steak in it, and tortilla chips, and beans, cheese, jalapeño peppers and bacon. And I had fries on the side. I was so proud of myself when I almost ate it all!
